My daddy was an amazing man, husband, dad, grandpa, role model, friend. He was the first best friend I ever had, and he never stopped being one. He always had time to listen and to give wanted advice. He had tons of patience, but he could be extremely stubborn when he wanted to be. He was funny and sarcastic and so very smart. He knew something about everything- especially music. He loved music, all genres. Well, almost all genres. He didn’t like country music.
He was lonely and sad a lot of the time when he was growing up. He made sure that the family he made didn’t feel that way. He saw to it that we knew we were loved. That extended from my mom and me to my husband and children as well.
Daddy, I love you. I will never say it in the past tense because I will never stop.
I will miss you, ‘kid’. See you on the other side.

I love you, daddy, and miss you. I will never say that in the past tense because it will always be true. See you on the other side, kid.

He hated to dress up. He was most comfortable barefoot, in blue jeans and a tee-shirt.
He tried not to take himself, or life, too seriously.
