Mrs. Jewell Wilson Robinson, 84, of Valdese, passed peacefully on Tuesday February 7, 2023, at Amorem Hospice of Burke County, after a period of declining health.
Mrs. Robinson was born December 8, 1938, in Iredell County, a daughter of the late Pinkney O. Wilson, Sr. and Madeline Gant Wilson. She attended Valdese First United Methodist Church, East Valdese Baptist Church, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and the Waldensian Presbyterian Church. Jewell was a very talented artist, dealing mostly with oil painting, and an accomplished writer and poet. She wrote a column for the Valdese News called Jewell’s Jems and over the years wrote a number of short stories and poetry for friends and family. She worked for Byer Bodenheimer Appraisals as projects manager and was a loving mother and homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Leigh Robinson, a brother, P.O. Wilson, Jr. and the father of her children, Bueford E. Robinson.
Surviving are her children, Timothy Mark Robinson (Crystal Bailey)and Donna Marie Robinson-Annas ,( Grady June Annas, Jr.) Also surviving are the apples of her eye, her grandchildren, Ryan Scott Sigmon, Evan John Sigmon (Miranda), Molly Wray Sigmon, Samantha Leigh Robinson (Deven Mills), Arron Wilson Robinson, great-grandchildren, Benton Sigmon, Maddox Sigmon, Daymien Mills and Aaden Mills, nieces, Cyndie Kamal (Azzam), Leslie Martin (Kevin) and sister-in-law, Betty Garrou Wilson.
Due to Jewells request, a private family celebration of life will take place at a later date.

I helped care for Mrs. Jewell through home health a few years ago. She was so sweet and we shared alot of laughs! So sorry to hear about her passing but she is now in a wonderful healing place. My condolences to Donna and all your family. ❤️
