Jerry Wayne Reid, 68, of Valdese, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at his residence.
Jerry was born May 26, 1956 in Catawba County to the late Marlene Reid Seagle. He worked for Burke Grading as a paver for many years. Jerry loved being the life of the party and kept people laughing. His daughter Ericka was the apple of his eye and he loved his grandchildren dearly.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his father, Bill Seagle; grandmother, Zona Reid; brother, Keith Reid, niece, Nikki Seagle; and nephew, Robbie Reid.
He is survived by his daughter, Ericka Reid (Michael Ervin); grandchildren, Amiya Ervin, Braxton Lowe, and Charlee Ervin; brother, Terry Seagle; aunt, Sue Lunsford; nephews, Rocky Reid, and Brian Reid; niece, Suzanne Seagle; and a host of cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rick Chavis officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
Jerry always had a smile as big as his heart! His arms would wrap around you with a hug that let you know just how much you were loved! He would always greet you at your car to welcome you to his home, he loved company. Jerry’s memories will forever remain in our hearts!!!
I love you maybe you can rest now. I will see you when I get there, until then, my friend; I will be missing you.
I’m glad I got to know you as long as I did you were truly someone I called a friend . We had alot of good times cooki g out playing cards just riding around and hanging out . I know your in a better place but you will definitely be missed down here by many until we meet again rest in peace my friend. Love ol buddy!!
