Jason Eugene Ray, 44, of Connelly Springs, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Frye Regional Medical Center.
Jason was born on September 22, 1980 in Catawba County, a son of Sandra Morel and the late Gary Keith Ray. He was an avid fisherman at the carp pond.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in passing by his younger brother, Tommy Garrett Ray, and many others gone before him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Sandra Morel; sister, Amie and her husband, Joshua; three nieces; three nephews; and two great nieces.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service at 6 PM.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Heritage Funeral Service from 5 PM to 6 PM.
Heritage Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Jason my friend you will surely be missed at the carp pond and as a great friend you taught me alot of the years and old buddy I appreciate that more than you’ll ever know…you catching them hogs now fish on… Amie I’m sorry for your loss and your family is in my prayers!
Jason was a man you will not forget he would give the shirt off his back and protect anyone he consider family last name may not be his but he was a brother and friend loved you and miss you already
So sorry to hear this. Tommy and Jason both were good childhood friends of mine. Tommy and I got saved together at a youth camp. Will be praying for your whole family.
Jason and I had been friends for about 15 years or so the last two years we wasn’t together but prior to that I was at his house everyday . Great guy great friend and best fisherman I ever seen. He taught me a lot and our times together want never be forgotten.
