Jason Edward Kowalski, 40, of Hickory, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
Jason was born October 21, 1984 in Monroe County, NY, a son of Lynne Farmer Kowalski and the late Scott Edward Kowalski. He served in the United States Army from 2002-2004, most notably providing transportation for the Old Guard. After his service, he spent many years as a truck driver exploring most of the fifty states and Canada. He received his Bachelors degree from UNC of Charlotte in 2012. He loved music and attended many concerts in his spare time. He enjoyed hiking and being outdoors, but his family and friends will most remember him for his caring and compassionate nature. He always strove to help others whenever he was able.
In addition to his father, Jason is preceded in passing by a great grandmother, Jennie Duel; maternal grandparents, Fred and Marian Farmer; and uncle, Larry Young.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Lynne Farmer Kowalski; grandparents, Carl and Marjorie Kowalski of Rochester; uncles, Blake Kowalski and Lawrence Farmer; Aunts, Marcal Kowalski Smith and partner Patrice Calcagno and Lorraine Farmer Young; cousins, Sherry Hayden, Christy Hayden, Jeremy Farmer, and numerous other cousins; and beloved animal companions, Bruno and Honey.
The family will hold a private Memorial Service at a later date.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory is assisting the family.
Lynne, I was so saddened by the news of Jason and then to learn of his dad’s passing. My heart goes out to you. I know the emptiness left in one’s heart at the passing of a loved one. I will keep you in my prayers.
Love & Hugs,
Wanda Merical
My deepest condolences. Love Bonnie
May peace be yours for now and forever my brother.
Please Remember him for the goodtimes he had. He had a big heart willing to help those down on their luck. He enjoyed visiting the mountains throughout the Blue Ridge, and those near Gastonia, Morganton, etc. He loved his dog Bruno and took him on many long walks and dog parks when he was having good days.
On my 60th Birthday he took me to the Ashboro Zoo. He took various sports trips with his Dad. Then would do his own trips to Racetracks, and baseball stadiums.
He enjoyed so much music over the years we went to countless concerts. I know will miss his hugs and generosity.
