Jack Henry Robinson, 81, of Hickory, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Jack was born September 17, 1942 in Burke County to the late John Henry Robinson and Susie Mathews Robinson. He was a member of Wilkies Grove Baptist Church and worked as a teacher for the Burke County School System. He was a member of several different organizations; Meal On Wheels; Ruritan Club; and was one of the founding members of the fire department and first responder program in George Hildebran. Jack loved being a teacher, drawing, painting, and gardening; and he appreciated bluegrass gospel music.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Wells Robinson; brother, Willie James Robinson; sister, Mary Ellen Deaton, infant sister, Lilly Robinson; and grandson, Nathan Robinson.
He is survived by his son, Todd Robinson; grandchildren, Joshua Robinson and wife Kimberly; and Grace Wells Robinson; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Huffman and Hope Gladden.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Wilkies Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Eldon Hinegardner, Rev. Chance Settle, and Rev. Kenneth Bryant officiating.
Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery at a later date.

Jack was always a great friend to me. He was one of the smartest men I knew. I’m sure he influenced many student lives when he was teaching and he did so much in our community. He will be missed. Todd and Grace prayers to you at this difficult time.

Mr.Robinson was one of the best teachers on and off the field (he helped coach football) during my years at Drexel high school my prayers are with his family and friends
Mr. Robinson was a great geometry teacher. I still use his term “eyeball theorem” when the situation warrants. He was at East Burke High School when I had him as a sophomore in 1998. Rest in peace, God Bless!
