Helena Joanne Powell, 80, of Morganton, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Autumn Care of Drexel, following a period of declining health.

Helena was born July 8, 1942 in Burke County to the late Horace and Gracie Powell. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and loved singing in the choir. Helena was a very talented singer and had an amazing voice.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Hubert, Horace, and Hedrick; and sisters, Hilda and Hazel.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Bobby Hallyburton officiating.
