Mrs. Helen Louise Dockery Rector, 75, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Friday May 24, 2024, at her residence after a period of declining health.

Mrs. Rector was born February 17, 1949, in Cherokee County, NC, a daughter of the late Bayless and Katherin Hancock Pendergrass and the late Jack Dockery, Sr, who raised her.

She was a faithful member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church and retired as a medical office insurance clerk.  Helen enjoyed being a loving and devoted mother, nana, sister and friend to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Rector and a sister Janett Payne.

Surviving is her daughter, Katrina Michele Miller, son Jason Rector (Samantha), daughter-in-law, Jennifer Rector (Chad Armstrong), brother, Jack Dockery, Jr. (Dianne) and sister, Patricia Franklin (Danny).  Also surviving are the apples of her eye, her grandchildren, Heather Franklin, Alex Ford, Kristina Miller, Jacob Miller, Jordan Rector, Emily Rector, Madison Rector, Maddox Rector, Maddyn Rector, great-grandchildren, Benjamin Franklin, Scarlett Franklin, Wrenlee Canipe, Walker Canipe, Ranger Canipe and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Helen Louise Dockery Rector will be held at 5:00 P.M. Tuesday May 28, 2024, in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Aaron Causby officiating.  Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 util 5:00 P.M. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Service Valdese.
