Mr. Harry Junior Cranford, 79, of Valdese, passed away on Thursday January 26, 2023 at his residence, following a period of declining health.
Mr. Cranford was born May 24, 1943, in Taylorsville, NC, a son of the late Harry James Cranford and Alma Dyson Cranford. He was very much a classic car enthusiast, and was a founding member of the 20’s and 40’s hot rod club, and was a member of the Red Roosters hot rod club. Harry was retired from General Electric as a supervisor serving from 1965-1997, and was a member of Crosslink Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Billy Ray Cranford; mother and father-in-law, Earl and Rachel Huffman; and brothers-in-law, Ray Robinson and Randy Huffman.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years Vickie Huffman Cranford of the home, two daughters, Betsy Cranford Lambert and husband Scott of Valdese, and Gail Cranford McGee and husband Jeff of Valdese, a sister, Sue Cranford Mosteller of Icard; sisters-in-law, Becky Huffman Sigmon (Tim), Beth Huffman LeGrande (Harlan), and Rita Hoyle Huffman, all of Cherryville; also surviving are his grandchildren, Katie Lambert, Jeffrey Alex McGee (Anna), Coy Scott Lambert (Triniti); and his much loved canine companion, Jake.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday January 30, 2023 at Crosslink Church, with Rev. Mark Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday from 3:00-4:00 P.M. at Crosslink Church.
