Mr. George Otis Gragg, 87, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at his residence, following a period of declining health.
George was born on February 18, 1937 in Alexander County, to the late Charlie A. Gragg and Margaret (Maggie) Powell Gragg. He was a member of Warlick’s Baptist Church and was in the trucking business all his life. George was the owner of Hildebran Freight Brokers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Terry Gragg, brothers William (Bud) Gragg, Herbert (Hub) Gragg, Donald Gragg, Walt Gragg and Robert Gragg and sisters Marie G. Moore, Thelma G. Mauney, and Mary Lou Gragg (infant).
Surviving is his beloved wife, Bertha Lail Gragg of the home, two sons, Randy Gragg and wife Debbie of Connelly Springs, and Brian Gragg and wife Cheree of Hickory. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Taylor, Nathaniel, Jacob, Luke, Brittany, and Bricen and six great-grandchildren; Liam, Bella, Caiden, Greyson, Madilynn and Raelynn.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with Rev. Tony Land officiating. Interment will follow at Warlick’s Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.

So sorry for your family’s loss. Since our family reunions stopped I havent seen Uncle George, but I will always remember his hugs and his big smile. See you in heaven Uncle George.
