As my wife would say, “One of the kindest, sweetest men in the world.” I have missed the lawnmower talks in the yard the past couple of years during his declining health. Coming home after a tough day and him riding over with that big grin and smile with a story about deer hunting always made the day better. Forever one of the hardest working men I have ever met. Would watch him in his gardens (plural) and be jealous of how long he could go. Rest In Peace Fred. Prayers to all of the family.
I didn’t know Mr. Chapman, but I am sure that he was a good man. I am friends with his son Scotty and grandson Matthew. They are both fine gentlemen. I want them to know that I am sorry for their loss and I am praying for them.
Mr. Chapman was always so kind to me when Darrin and I would come visit. He always had a smile on his face and would go out of his way to make sure I had enough vegetables to go home with! He will be greatly missed!
Jeanette, I am so sorry for your loss. I always wondered how Fred could endure those hot, hot summers out in that field (garden) on D.A.V. Avenue. He loved it, I am sure, and did it year after year as long as he was able. I will miss seeing him out there. He will truly be missed.
With love and sympathy to you and the boys…and all the family,
Guinn Huffman

Janette and Boys, I am so sorry for your loss. Fred was so kind to share the fresh vegetables with me when I came to visit Larry. He was such a kind man and will be missed. Hardest working man I have ever met! May the Lord give u comfort during this difficult time.
