Eunice Elaine Pearson, 64, of Morganton, transitioned from an earthly angel to a heavenly angel on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at her residence, following a period of declining health.
Eunice was born August 29, 1958 in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Ralph Newton and Georgia Turner Newton. She was previously employed as a sewer and seamstress in the furniture manufacturing industry as well as a mixologist and manager of the Elks Lodge in Morganton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Regina Broome and her grandmother, Alice Turner.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Billy Pearson of the home, daughters, Donna Lindsey and husband Antoine of Morganton, Teresa Jewell and husband Shaun of Claremont, and one brother, John Budd. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Oreyane, Katera, Zavion, Tyler, Amiya, Chaunda and Antoine Jr., and three great-grandchildren, Nariyah, Marley and Tyler Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Rocky McLendon and Pastor Lynn Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Park Hill Cemetery in Glen Alpine, with Larry Boyce, Chris Chapman, Tim Guffey, Charles Ham, Logan Hughes and Tavion Wilkerson serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese. In honor of Eunice and her love for the Las Vegas Raiders, guests are encouraged to wear their favorite NFL or sports team attire.

I can’t say enough good things about Eunice. She was definitely an angel on earth. I don’t know one thing that woman couldn’t do. I will truly miss seeing her when I come home. She was one of a kind.
