Mr. Elbert Lane, 84, of Morganton, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Autumn Care Nursing Center, following a period declining health. Elbert was born on September 26, 1934 in Burke County to the late Holden Lane and Nannie Smith Lane. He was a longtime member of Asheville St. Baptist Church, and was a retired upholsterer, working in the furniture industry for many years. Elbert also served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
