Edwin “Ed” Lawrence Lawing passed away Sunday, May 7th, 2023 at Carolina Caring after a period of declining health.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen. His four children; Laura Tribble (Dallas), Brandy Lewis (Joseph), Eddie Lawing, Jr. and Nechole Lawing (Cory). In addition to his children, Ed was blessed to have 19 grandchildren: Justin Turner (Chelsea), Addison Turner (Keagan), Gracie Adams, Kameron Lewis (Chloe), Noah Lawing, Hannah Lawing (Kendel), Luke Lawing, Laura-Ashleigh Lawing, Quintin Lewis, Ezekiel Lewis, Maliyah Lawing, Talan Lawing, Grayson Lawing, Kamiah Lawing, Paigelynn Lawing, Charleigh Lawing, McKenna Forney, Cortlynn Forney & Ikeese Brock. He also has one great grandson Jaxson Turner. Brother Frank & wife Kathy and numerous relatives and close friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Loyd & Mary Graves Lawing.
Ed was the proud owner and operator of Lawing’s Heating & Air. He cherished the many customers who became friends, serving the Burke, Caldwell and Catawba county area for many years. He was known for his kindness, generosity and as an avid pet lover. He will be missed by so many.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 12th at 12 PM at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese with David Hartman officiating.
The Family will receive friends from 11 until 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service.

Ed was always so kind to me and to all who knew him. Very genuine. I’m happy he’s not suffering anymore and so happy for the recent get together in Grayton. RIP
