Mr. Duane Michael Tallent, 47, of George Hildebran, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at his residence.
Duane was born on May 31, 1975 in Catawba County to Dorothy Brittain Tallent and the late Samuel Steve Tallent. He was previously employed with MACK Trucking as a parts salesman. He was a member of the Church of Christ, enjoyed being outdoors, especially fly fishing, attending concerts, reading, and loved all the children in his family and extended family. Duane was a unique soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Dorothy, are his three children; Delaney, Noah and Abram Tallent, two brothers, Steve Tallent and wife Julia, and Richard Tallent. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Jacob Tallent and wife Katie, Whitney Joyce and husband Jacob, Madison Tallent, Joshua Tallent and wife Madison, Malia Nickens and husband Chris, Keraghan Tallent, Chloe Tallent, and Colvin Tallent, two great-nieces, Brinkley and Alaina Tallent, a great-nephew, Selleck Joyce, and the mother of his children, Christina L. Tallent.
Private services will be held by the family.

Duane I will never forget you carrying my parts out when we had Highway Star. We all used to laugh so much. It was a joy when I had to call you or Curley. I hope you rest in peace and you will never hurt again. I will hold you in my heart til we all meet again.

Dorothy and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Duane was such a sweet young man. Every time I would think of him during the years, I would think about the kindergarten program they had all those yours ago. He was so good and so funny. I remember how proud you were of all your boys and I am sure you still are just as proud now as you were then. Sending prayers for comfort.
I am so sorry for this loss. I had the privilege of teaching his son Abram. I will be praying for the kids and the whole family.
So sorry for y’alls loss. I went to school with Duane. I especially remember going to elementary school with him at George Hildebrand. He was kind and funny. Keeping y’all in my prayers 🙏.
