Mr. Douglas Bruce Terry Jr., 56, of Morganton, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at his residence, following a period of declining health.
Bruce was born on June 18, 1967 in Burke County to the late Douglas Terry Sr. and Peggy Alice Woods. He was previously employed as a landscaper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.
Survivors include his aunts and uncles; Dovie Harding and husband Dallas, Nancy Gragg, Wayne Terry, Laureene Carver, Pattie Woods and husband Wayne, cousins and caregivers, Ruth “Nanette” Amon, and Jennifer Putnam, cousins; Clayton Gragg, Jennie Woods, D.J. Harding, Shannon Moody, Delena McCall, Donald Carver, Jotis Clark and Carrie Clark, best friends/brothers, Thomas Clark and Manuel Wishon, and numerous other cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese, with a graveside to follow at 3:00 P.M. at Burke Memorial Park, with Dallas Harding officiating.

A legend. You were a humble man full of love, strength and encouragement to us. I will always remember the wisdom and the advice you shared with me.
