Donna Kay Watson Frye, 78, of Taylorsville, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest, following a period of declining health.
Donna was born December 26, 1945 in Catawba County to the late Charles J. Watson and Sharon Munday Watson. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rhodhiss and retired from Sprint after 30 years of service. Donna enjoyed going antiquing, going to the beach and spending time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Lee Frye.
She is survived by her children, Sandy Lee Hyatt, Jonathan Morgan Frye and wife Carline, and Anna Elizabeth Fowler and husband Reggie; grandchildren, Taylor S. Bumgarner, Payton A. Frye, Ethan A. Frye, Owen P. Frye, Jacob A. Fowler, Gabriel J. Fowler, Madison E. Hammer (Nick Saliba), Abby N. Hammer, and Kennedy L. Fowler; and great-grandchildren, Jaycee Donald, Asher L. Saliba, Briggs C. Saliba, Samuel A. Fowler, and Silas H. Fowler. Also surviving are her siblings, David Watson and wife Ricki, and Sherry Jean.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 6:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Rhodhiss with Pastor Rick Miller.
The family will receive friends on Thursday prior to the service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the church.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
So sorry to hear this. Donna and I were coworkers, she was always a pleasure to work with and had a good sense of humor. May the presence of the Holy Spirit comfort you during this difficult time.
