Mrs. Donna Church Powell, 63, of Icard, passed away on Thursday September 19, 2024, at Mission Hospital after a period of declining health.
Mrs. Powell was born January 24,1961 in Avery County, a daughter of the late Clyde Sherman Church, Sr. and Frances Faye Bare Church Bostan. Donna retired from Alba-Waldensian, Pineburr Plant and was a faithful member of the Grace and Truth Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Douglas Powell of Valdese, two sons, Michael Powell, Sr. (Kimberly Carter), Randal Powell (Vicki Avery), all of Icard, two brothers, Robert Church of Hickory, and Sherman Church, Jr. of George Hildebrand. Also surviving are the apples of her eye, her grandchildren.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday September 28, 2024, at Grace and Truth Baptist Church.
Private interment will be held in the family cemetery at a later date.
