Mr. Donald Ray Lockee, 79, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Thursday December 7, 2023, at his residence, after a period of declining health.
Mr. Lockee was born June 6, 1944 in Burke County, a son of the late Rev. Angus Archie (A.A.) Lockee and Swoney Oxentine Lockee. Donald retired from the furniture manufacturing industry and was a faithful member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.
Surviving, are, his loving wife, Ann Richards Lockee of the home, two sons, Michael Lockee and wife Crystal of Granite Falls, Dwayne Lockee and wife Kathryn of Hickory and two sisters, Sharon Duckett of Valdese and Brenda Melchor (Gary) of Vale. Also surviving are four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Donald Ray Lockee will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday December 11, 2023 in Mount Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Eric James officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 until 2:00 P.M. Monday at Mount Hebron Baptist Church.

Miyagi what I called him growing up (Don) was a wonderful man and I am truly blessed to have known him. He’s going to be missed tremendously. I will keep all of you in my prayers. Anne you and Don are two wonderful people I remember the days when the youth of the church would come swim in the pool. Thank you both for being a great example in my life.
I’m so sorry to hear of Donald’s passing. I worked with him many years ago and he was always calm when everyone else was in a panic around him. He was dependable and kept a positive attitude in difficult situations. I know he will be missed by so many. Lifting your family up in prayer.
