Mr. Don Van De Kreeke, 85, of Valdese, NC, formerly Kohler, WI, passed away at his home Sunday December, 17, 2023.
Don was born in Sheboygan, WI on October 25, 1938 to Jacob and Marie Van De Kreeke. He graduated from North High in 1956 and married Shirley Bimmel in 1960. He and Shirley had 3 children, Linda , Steve, and Lori. They were happily married 42 years until Shirley’s passing May of 2002. In December of 2002 he married Carol Cook and they’ve been happily married nearly 22 years.
Don’s faith was important to him so while active in his home churches of Valdese Cornerstone & First Reformed Church of Sheboygan Falls, WI, he enjoyed serving on various committees, as deacon, elder and happy volunteer. Don retired from Kohler Co in 2002, after 44 years. He enjoyed upholstering furniture and traveling.
In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; son Steven, and brother Bob Van De Kreeke.
Don is survived by his wife, Carol Cook Van De Kreeke; daughters, Linda Egge of Sioux Falls, SD, Lori Jameson (Rob) of Dallas, TX, Sandra Harwood of Mt Pleasant, NC, and Diana Smith (Robert), Morganton, NC; brothers, Bill (Jan) Van De Kreeke, Appleton, WI, sister in law Betty Van De Kreeke, Sheboygan, WI; and sister in law, Donna Laney of Concord, NC. He leaves behind ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Donald Van De Kreeke will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday December 19, 2023, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Valdese, with Rev. Dr. Jay Robison officiating. Services will also be held 11:00 AM Friday December 22, 2023, at First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls, WI with Entombment to follow in the Green Lawn Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 until 2:00 P.M. at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Valdese and Friday from 10:00 until 12:00 PM at the First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls, WI.
