Mr. Dennis Lynn Ninemire, 70, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation, after a brief battle with cancer. Dennis was born on June 7th, 1954, in Kaneville, Illinois. to the late Robert L. Ninemire and Ida Lee Ninemire. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retiring as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves. After serving his country, Dennis went on to work as a truck driver, retiring from MDI. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his entire family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Larry Ninemire.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Deborah Mae Rash Ninemire; two sons, David Ninemire and his wife, Brandy, of Rutherford College; Matthew Ninemire and his wife, Amanda, of Valdese, and his daughter Amanda Brown and her husband, Sammy, of Lenoir. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Megan Ninemire; Chris Ninemire and his wife Emma; Octavia (Tavy) Brown and one great grandchild Bailey Ninemire.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 22nd, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Eddie Bunton officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery with Military Honors by Caldwell County American Legion Post 29 and the U.S. National Guard. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
At other times the family will be at the residence of Deborah Ninemire, Connelly Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Vietnam Veterans of America organization located at 8719 Colesville Road, Suite 100, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910.
