Dennis Lee Turnmire, 66, of Valdese, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at College Pines Health and Rehabilitation following a period of declining health.

Dennis was born on July 4, 1958 in Burke County to the late Walter J. Turnmire and Inez Spann Turnmire. He enjoyed going to country concerts, racing, and watching National Geographic.

He is survived by his sisters, Cynthia Church and husband Gary, and Patricia Huffman; nephews, Kenneth McCoy and wife Shawna, Steve McCoy and wife Shelby, and Philip Smith; nieces, April McCoy, Amber McCoy, Cindy Landes and husband Adam, and Chasity Fox and husband Nick; and numerous great nephews and nieces. Also surviving are his uncles, Earnest Turnmire and Robert Turnmire; and aunts, Brenda Davis, Linda Turnmire, and Ellen Turnmire.

The family will have a memorial service on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 2:30 PM at Anitoch Baptist Church.
