It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Eugene Mull, who departed this life for his eternal home on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the age of 79 at the VA Hospice in Asheville, NC after a long battle with cancer.

David was born on April 27, 1946, to the late Griffin and Lois Mull. He was a proud graduate of Hickory High School, Class of 1964. After graduation, David bravely served his country for three years in the U.S. Navy by serving two tours of duty in the Vietnam War, a period that shaped much of his life.

After being honorably discharged from the Navy, David attended Gardner-Webb University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Upon graduation, David dedicated thirty-three years of service to the United States Postal Service, from which he later retired. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Linda, with whom he shared 56 wonderful years of marriage, a testament to their enduring love and commitment.

David was also a dedicated member of Transformation Church in Hickory, NC, where he contributed to the growth of the church.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Griffin and Lois Mull, and his brother, Jack Mull. Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Linda; his son, Jonathan Mull, and his wife, Heather of Hudson; his son, Jeffrey Mull of Conover; and his sister-in-law, Ellen Arney of Statesville. David will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at the Transformation Church of Hickory at 1:00 PM with Dr. Michael Hone officiating. Interment will follow the service at Catawba Memorial Park.  Military honors will be presented at the graveside by the United States Navy.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Transformation Church of Hickory.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Heffinger, Jeff Heffinger, Justin Arney, Duane Mozingo, Michael Brotherton, and Stewart Travis.
