Cristeen Louise Young Whisnant, 57, of Nebo, passed away on Thursday August 8, 2024 at Deer Park Health and Rehabilitation following a period of declining health.

Cristeen was born February 21, 1967 to Bufford Young and Wanda Elkins Willix. She loved the Lord and her grandbabies meant the world to her and spending time with them.

Cristeen is preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Renee Sigmon, and brother, Terry Wayne Travis.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughters, Teresa Nicole Gouge and husband Anthony Hatton, and Jessica Gouge; and grandchildren, Katy Buckner, Landon Laws, Kolton Smith, and Alyssa Gouge. Also surviving is her sister, Michelle Huffman; nephews, Grayson Huffman, Michael Gouge, and Joshua Sigmon; and niece, Rhonda Curtis.

A gathering of friends will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
