Coyte Christopher “Chris” Witherspoon, 67, of Valdese, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at his residence.
Chris was born June 8, 1957 in Catawba County to the late Coyte Cline Witherspoon and Margie Setzer. He worked as a property manager and enjoyed buying and selling antiques; and loved animals and being on the farm.
Chris is survived by his brother, Michael Witherspoon and wife Sandy; sister, Julie Huitt and husband Jay; nieces and nephews, Jennings Huitt (Jackie), Jenna Huitt, Jennifer Dunn, Candice Reid (Julian), Brianna Mace (Austin), Michael Cline Witherspoon; and great-nieces and nephews, Celeste Yates, Joseph Dunn, Marley Reid, and John Coyte Mace.
A private service will be held at a later date by the family.

Chris was a one of a kind and a great friend of mine !! He will be missed !! Love ya brother !!
Chris had a good heart. He was a good friend of ours. His friends at The Basket will miss him.

I am so sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. I went to school with him at Valdese High. He was popular, smart and had a weird sense of humor. We all loved him and looked forward to seeing him at class reunions. He will be missed with lots of love.
