Just a great guy! Enjoyed many rounds of golf with Cliff and a band of characters from the Glen Alpine Barber Shop to play on Mondays back in the 90’s. Cliff was always in good spirits and a great joy to be around! RIP
Cliff had a beautiful soul. He was quick witted and had a great sense of humor. Cliff will surely be missed by all of us who loved him.
Cliff was probably the best dressed man in Burke County. Teresa always made sure of it. I miss and love you.
I will certainly miss Cliff. We spent a lot of time playing golf locally as well as at the beach. Cliff was a fun-loving person who had a heart of gold and he was a man of character which I admired. My thoughts and prayers go to his family. Again I will miss ole Cliff!
Warren, Daddy thought a lot of you and missed the days when you and the boys played golf. Hope your back surgery continues to go well.

My favorite remembrance of Cliff was his saying “man cannot live by bread alone, he must have bologna.”. What a sense of humor. What a fun person he was to be around! Teresa, so sorry for your loss. Your Dad and Tommy can now pick up where they left off!

Cliff Carswell was a wonderful soul. Spent many days at the flea market sitting around and getting to know each other. We talked about everything and everyone. And I know he loved each of his daughters, Angie and Teresa along with his grandchildren, and Betsy Johnson. This obituary is for Cliff and when I hear his name I think of Love, kindness, compassion, those hats, boots and that smile. Rest in Peace my friend. Have that dance with Peggy, and I will see you again.
Thank you, Vicky, Daddy is enjoying not being in pain and being back with Momma.
Love,
Teresa G Carswell
Prayer for the Family of Cliff. I worked at Uptown BBQ years ago as my first job. Cliff and Teresa would come in regularly. He would tell me about his truck driving, and that Ford Lightning he had.
Evan, those were truly some wonderful days and great food. Thank you for remembering us.
