Mr. Claude Junior Moore, 76, of Drexel, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at his residence, following a period of declining health.
Junior was born on March 22, 1947, in Catawba County to the late Claude Moore and Lillian Martin Moore. He was retired from the construction industry, where he worked in paint supervision for many years. Junior was an avid Tarheel fan, enjoyed any outdoor activities, walking, kayaking and shooting pool.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Kay Moore, one son, Jonathan Wesley Moore; and a sister Margie Moore.
Survivors include his three sons, Brian Moore and wife Kelli of Hickory, Steve Moore and wife Joni of Connelly Springs, and Scott Moore and wife Gigi of Claremont; and one daughter, Tina Byrd and husband Aaron of Valdese. Also surviving is his partner, Lynda Morgan of Conover, a sister, Linda Carswell of Hickory, one brother Keith Moore and wife Candace of Hickory, and ten grandchildren, Jordan Moore, Emily Moore, Blake Moore, Ally Moore, Seth Moore, Drew Moore, Hunter Moore, Carter Moore, Lauren Byrd, and Caleb Byrd, and his loyal companion, Skip.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with Rev. Bruce Piercy officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park with his grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.

Although it’s been less than six years being his neighbor, my husband and I both enjoyed chatting with Jr whenever we saw him walking his dog. He was such a wonderful person and will miss being able to stop and chat. My thoughts and prayers to his family. No words can express the sadness of losing him. May he be reunited with his wife, soar high and keep a constant watch always over his loved ones.
