Mr. Christopher Allen Rector, 60, of Morganton passed away on Saturday January 14, 2023 at Mission Hospital. Christopher was born October 24, 1962 in Burke County to Jimmy A. Rector and Joyce Abernathy Rector. His home church was Smarts Grove Baptist Church. He loved being around his family and friends and working on cars.  He is preceded in death by his son, Brian Allen Rector. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of forty two years, June Fredell Rector; daughters, Ashley Henson and Megan Earwood; brother, Jason Eric Rector and wife Mandy; niece, Taylor Galloway; and nephew, Justin Rector. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Smarts Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Mace officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses at 1507 Main St. E, Valdese, NC 28690.  Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
