Charlene Norma Williams Fletcher, 92, of Drexel, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 25, 2023 at Amorem Hospice following a period of declining health.
Charlene was born on March 17, 1930 in Burke County to the late Bryant Columbus Williams and Donnie Lou Williams. She was a retired Customer Service Manager with Drexel Heritage Furniture and was a member of Drexel First Baptist Church. She served the community by volunteering for Burke Hospice and Palliative Care and Good Samaritan Clinic for over 25 years. She had a great love for friends and family and cherished the time they had together.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Martin Fletcher; her son, Donald Fletcher; one brother, B.C. Williams; and four sisters, Betty Bennett, Nancy Mitchum, Margaret Powell and Emma Lee Carswell.
Survivors include her son, Martin Wayne Fletcher and wife Lola of Valdese; her daughter, Kathie Fletcher of Drexel; her grandchildren, Kelly Fletcher, Lori Fletcher, Dwight Fletcher, Harrison Fletcher, Jessica Kaiser and husband Roland, and Haley Shuping and husband Jonathan; three great-grandchildren, Fletcher Kress, Lawson Shuping and Sawyer Shuping.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Drexel First Baptist Church, with Rev. Michael Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Drexel First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Fletcher was an amazing woman. Her grandson, Harrison is my best friend and she would always go on vacation with us. She was tough, sweet and funny. Prayers to the family.
