Mrs. Catherine Lucille Cook, 81, of Valdese, passed away on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Cancer Center following a period of declining health.

Catherine was born on January 30, 1941 in Burke County to the late Aaron Cooke and Junie Chapman Cooke.  She worked for Alba-Waldensian and had been a homemaker and babysitter for more than thirty years.  She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for over thirty years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by a son, David Dean Cook; brothers, J. C. Cook, D. B. Cook, and Robert Cook; and sisters, Ruth Keller and Joanne Abee.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Sharman Dean Cook; two sons, Charles A. Cook (Jacqueline) and Elbert Cook; grandchildren, C. Ryan Cook (Brooke), Aaron  Bryson  Cook (Madeline), Seth Logan Cook (Lauren), Brooklyn Alexis Cook (Jaylen), and Chalee Saige Cook; greatgrandchildren, Catherine Harper Cook, James Ryan Cook, River Cook, Ridge Cook, Tyler Hodges (Brittany), Allie Speas, Greyson Bonfield, and Michael Keirs; and canine companion, Hank; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 2:30 P.M. at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Hodge officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 till 2:30 P.M. at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church in Valdese.
