Brenda Kaye Edwards Vance was a caring mother, sister, aunt, and friend who left this world after a short battle with cancer. Her joy for life did not come to an end when she took her final breath but was magnified as she walked into the arms of the Lord.
She was born on December 31, 1952, to James and Ruth Nelson Edwards who predecease her. Brenda is also predeceased by her siblings, Jill Edwards Watson, and William “Dale” Edwards as well as her nephew, Christopher James Smith. Surviving are her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Amber and BJ Tallent of Morganton, NC, her siblings, Larry “Bo” and Darlene Edwards, James “Buck” and Ramona Edwards, Vicki and Charles Smith, all of Lenoir. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Tracy and Gary Chase of Newport News, VA, Kelly Keller of Hudson, NC, Tamara and Kelly Turner of Granite Falls, NC, Phillip Beane, Bradley and Ashley Edwards, Charles Smith Jr, Christy Mullinax, and Nichole Bentley, all of Lenoir, NC and her great nieces and nephews.
Even though the disease took her from this life, it will never be able to take away the love and joy she left behind.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Thrive Church 215 Pete Brittain Road, Morganton, NC 28655 at 2:30 p.m. There will be a receiving of friends 30 minutes prior and fellowship following the service at 4:00 p.m.
In honor of Brenda, we ask that everyone wear red to reflect her strength, warmth, and courage.

You will be deeply missed but even more so you are deeply loved. Throughout, you were still so full of joy and that is something sickness or death cannot take away. We hope you’re not cheating in rummy up there!
