Brenda “Gail” McDaniel (59)
Gail gained her angel wings on March 16, 2024 in her home in Rhodhiss, North Carolina.
Born December 31st 1964 in Rutherford County North Carolina.
Gail was born to the late Betty Ann and step-father Boyce Wishion. She was a graduate of Isothermal Community College. She worked in textiles and transportation before retiring. She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Granite Falls, NC. She enjoyed life to the fullest with her husband, son, five grandchildren and family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and any activity that her grandbabies wanted to do. She enjoyed cruising, relaxing on her deck and anywhere that she could enjoy the breeze and sunshine by the water. She was a great wife, wonderful mother and an exceptional Mawmaw. Gail was a loving sister and a great friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Some of her favorite hobbies were fishing, being out on the lake, riding motorcycles and entertaining her grandchildren. She loved attending church and cherished every moment she got to spend with her family and friends. Her son and grandchildren were the light of her life.
She is survived by her husband Joey McDaniel; son Brandon Rhyne (wife Erin) of Rutherfordton; daughter, Candace McDaniel of Forest City; grandbabies Chloe Black, Mallory Rhyne, Kyra Lee, Graham Rhyne and Weston Rhyne; and God Child Daisey Canavan. Also surviving is her sister Crystal Lahrmer of Forest City; brothers, Raymond Waters (wife Denise) of Ellenboro, and Edward Wishion (wife Angie) of Forest City; sisters-in-law Sue Moore (husband Ron), Robin Waters of Rutherfordton, and Dawn Wishion of Ellenboro; brother-in-law Del; and a number of nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Extended family Dannie Price AKA Daddy and Best Friend; Bea Wishion (step mother); and Darrell and Vickie Hunt. Along with special lifelong friends John and Linda Haynes; Van Shehan and Connie Taylor.
She is preceded in death by her mother Betty Ann and step-father Boyce Wishion; three brothers Robert Waters, Gary (Catman) Shehan and Tommy Wishion; and sister Betty Jane Wishion.
Gail requests that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to the building fund at Solid Rock Baptist Church (131 Duke St. Granite Falls, NC 28630). Per her request no services will be had, but a celebration of life will be announced at a later date by her family.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
I am going to miss my best girlfriend. We made lots of good memories over the years. She was one of the strongest woman I ever met. Loved her so much. I am glad I was with her the last week of her life. Prayers for Joey and Brandon.
I love gail and joey like family. She will be greatly missed. Fly high sweet pea.
