Mr. Billy “Bill” Hugh Jordan, Jr. ,69, of Hickory, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 29, 2025, at Carolina Caring in Sherrills Ford, after a period of declining health.
Billy was born on September 12, 1956, in Mecklenburg County, a son of Nancy Keeter Jordan and the late Billy Hugh Jordan, Sr.
Before retiring, Bill worked for eighteen years for the Caldwell House in Lenoir, NC, where he dedicated his life in helping others. Bill enjoyed fishing with his father, who he missed tremendously, and you could always find him outside in his garage working with his tools making sure that things at home ran properly. On a summer Friday night, he always enjoyed his friends coming by and playing a hand of cards. Above all Bill loved and leaned on his wife Libby, and their years together of love and commitment will be treasured by anyone who knew them.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mattie “Libby” Sturgill Jordan of the home, his mother, Nancy Keeter Jordan of Mooresville, sister Donna Crabtree and husband Samuel of Mooresville, NC, two stepchildren, Chuck Moore and Joy Ward of Lenoir. Also surviving are a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces who he adored and treasured.
A Private Service of Celebration will be held by his family at the home of his beloved sister on February 8, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in Statesville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials are made to the Carolina Caring Hospice House in Sherrills Ford, NC.
An online guestbook and obituary is available at www. heritagefuneralservices.com
Never forget, nothing is more powerful than prayer.
Nothing is stronger than faith.
And, nothing is greater than God.
Bill, even though I truly miss you, I know you’ll be waiting on everyone when they get there. We love you.
