Mrs. Betty Sue Moore Berry, 97, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Monday December 2, 2024, at Carolina Rehab of Burke, after a period of declining health.
Mrs. Berry was born February 1, 1927, in Burke County, a daughter of the late Charles Earl and Mary Abernethy Moore. She was a member of the Shady Grove Methodist Church and retired from the shipping department of JP Stevens textile plant, Hickory and the Hildebran Elementary School lunchroom.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Addison Berry, Jr., five sisters, Naomi Moore, Edna Mae McGalliard, June Perkins, Margaret Glymp and Marie Shook; daughter-in-law, Kris Berry; and son-in-law, Brian Feimster.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, James Earl (Jim) Berry of Seven Lakes, Charles Nolan Berry (Janice) of Valdese, and Cathey Berry Feimster of Rutherford College, a brother, Larry Earl Moore of Sherrills Ford and a sister, Nancy Sigmon of Lake Wacamaw. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Bertha Pearson.
Funeral Services for Betty Sue Berry will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday December 11, 2024, in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with Rev. Deval Mason officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.

Betty you were always good to me Bethel and our children. you kept them for us when they were little. You were just one of the kindest ladies I’ve ever met in my life. You are my aunt in law and I will cherish your memory. But I know you’re a happy now where you are with Mama June and Edna May, Marie, and your whole family your mama and daddy and husband and many more that I can’t mention all of. Rest in peace my wonderful friend and I considered you my aunt also. You will be missed.
