Betty Lucille Stamey Dyson, 78, of Connelly Springs, passed on to her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at UNC Chapel Hill after a period of declining health.
She was born May 28, 1945, to the late John W. Stamey and Delphia Lowman. She was a lifelong resident of Burke County, North Carolina. Betty spoiled her family and especially her grandchildren with an abundance of love.
Mrs. Dyson is preceded in death by her son; Harold Dean Dyson, brothers; John Billy, Stamey, Hubert Eugene Stamey and Guy Edward Stamey.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband; Howard Wayne Dyson, daughter; Rebecca Toney, son, Steve Dyson and wife, Suzanne, grandchildren; Chris Toney and wife Charli, Amber Poarch and husband Carson, Alisha Farr and husband Dustin, and Bryan Dyson, step-grandchildren, Mason Moore and Jessie Moore; great grandchildren; Ryleigh, Landon, Santiago and Amelia, and daughter-in- law, Debbie Dyson; and sister-in-law, Betty Stamey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 9, 2023 at St. John’s Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the St. John’s Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 9, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at St. John’s Baptist Church.
