Betty Jo Holden Sanford, 75, of Granite Falls, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at her residence following a period of declining health.

Betty was born March 16, 1947 in South Carolina, to the late Ervin Holden and Retha Rhodes Holden. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Wilson Day and Herb Sanford; son, Frederick James Wiseman; and brother-in-law, Jesse Allen.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Jo Day; sons, Charles Allen Day, Mark Wayne Day, and Bryan Scott Day; brother, Morris Holden and wife Peggy; sister, Mary Allen; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.

Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
