Mr. Bennie Archie Buff, 78, of Valdese, passed away on Friday February 3, 2023, at his residence after a period of declining health.
Mr. Buff was born February 13, 1944, in Catawba County, a son of the late Ben Mark and Alice Mozelle Lothridge Buff. Bennie was a faithful member of United Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and on numerous committees. He worked in the textile industry for several companies ,in various plants for the majority of his career, retiring from Alba Waldensian in the boiler maintenance department. Afterwards he did sub contract water treatment work for BetzDearborn at many industrial facilities in Burke and surrounding counties. Most recently, he made many friends managing the Valdese Car Wash on Praley Street from 2003 until 2008.
Surviving are, his wife, Delores Nichols Buff of the home, sons, Mark Buff and wife, Katherina of Morganton, Shane Newton of Hickory, Jason Newton of Valdese, a daughter, Sharlene Hipple and husband John of Morganton, sisters, Barbara Buff Nichols of Valdese, Donna Buff Nichols and husband Bob of GA and a brother, Dennis Buff of Valdese. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Bennie Archie Buff will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2:30 PM at United Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Mathews officiating. Interment will follow in the United Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at United Baptist Church.

Bennie was a kind man. He always made me feel welcomed and loved. My thoughts and prayers go to the family-Delores, I’m sorry for your loss. You and Bennie were a sweet couple. I’m so sorry to hear of Mr. Bennie’s passing. I’ve only known the Buff family for a short time, walking my dog past their house, and speaking with Ms. Delores. What a loving family ….
