Barbara Ann Anderson Miller, 85, of Connelly Springs, passed with dignity and grace on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Carolina Caring following a period of declining health.

Barbara was born on June 18, 1939, in Catawba County, a daughter of the late Avery “Jack” Tellis and Betty Louise Heavner Anderson. Barbara was a woman of strength and strong faith. She was known for her famous potato salad and coconut cakes.  Family and friends never left her house hungry.  She had a green thumb, especially for her Purple Queen.  She loved traveling the world, but her pride and joy was the love of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was always there for her family and will be incredibly missed.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in passing by her husband, John Dale Miller; two brothers, Steve and Jerry Anderson; and a sister, Marilyn Sue Barger.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Cynthia Adele (Michael) Greene of Connelly Springs; grandchildren, Justin Chandler (Johanna) Wilcox of Lake Starnberg, Germany, and Brooke Meredith Wilcox of Connelly Springs; great grandsons, Bodhi Dale Hambrick of Connelly Springs, Leopold Maximilian Wilcox of Lake Starnberg, Germany, and an expected great granddaughter in Germany, due May 2025; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Ruth Elaine Miller; Special Love for Brandon, Leah, Ty, and Glen Greene; and a special niece, Sherry Lynn Anderson.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11 AM at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hickory, with Pastor Karin O’Donnell officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery of Hickory.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hickory on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10 AM to 11 AM.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Carolina Caring on Robinson Road in Newton and at Catawba Valley Medical Center for the empathy they displayed in their care.
