We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Arthur Junior Burkhalter.
Born on August 13, 1944 in Georgia. He leaves a long legacy of love, faith, hard-work and a unwavering commitment to his family. Arthur was born and raised in a small town in Georgia alongside his 10 brothers and sisters, where these values he passed on to his family were instilled in him. He is survived by his 2 brothers AJ and James Burkhalter. He was a active member of Hickory Church of Christ where he served the Lord faithfully. Nothing made him happier than loading up his travel trailer and hitting the road. He loved traveling and exploring God’s glorious world. A close second to that would be sneaking off to a ice cream date with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Hester Arlene, of 58 years, his children Cyndi Moore (Greg), Tommy Burkhalter (Joli), Lisa Martin, Steve Burkhalter (Gloria), Danielle, Roxie, Joey, Airah and Gabriel Burkhalter, 16 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Hickory Church of Christ, with Pastor Kevin Bibbee officiating. Interment will follow at Royal Chapel Church of God.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Hickory Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers a memorial can be sent to Hickory Church of Christ 1218 Fairgrove Church Rd Hickory NC 28602 with a memo for Flavio Uribe to support his mission in Columbia.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
