Mr. Arnold Richard Mull, 94, of Morganton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 11, 2023. Arnold passed away at the Berkley Assisted Living Center in Morganton.
Mr. Mull was born September 19, 1928 in Burke County, son of Horace and Callie Shuping Mull. Arnold worked in the textile and furniture industry for 30 years, retiring from Drexel Heritage in 1991. He was a faithful member of Mount Home Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for over 30 years as well as being a member of the Sanctuary Choir. Arnold loved to sing and used his voice to praise the Lord. He also spent many years witnessing to others and visiting nursing care facility residents, where he would often take them a meal and spend time with them. He and his late wife, Lena, also helped raise and foster, Keith, a resident at J. Iverson Riddle Development Center until Keith passed away.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Lena Popp Mull , two sisters Geraldine Cline and Elsie Lingerfelt and brother Gerald Mull.
He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
A graveside Service will be held on Saturday, February 18th, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mount Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Gamble and Rev. David Orders officiating.

Arnold was my little buddy. So sweet and loved the Lord. I’m gng to miss him so much especially when I walk past his room and “his spot” in the hallway where he loved to sit in the sun and nap. Rest easy sweet Arnold you are finally home where you wanted to be for so long. Love n prayers for his loved ones and friends. RIP ♥️🙏♥️🙏
Arnold was an inspiration to my wife Nellie and me.We visited at Arnold’s home and often took him a fruit basket.
I always felt at home when I visited him, Arnold was such a gracious host. I look forward to seeing him again. Thank you Lord for putting a man like Arnold in our Church and community.
Sweet Arnold you will be missed by so many. I had the honor to care for and get to know you while I worked at the Berkeley. I always looked forward to hearing you singing those old hyms and seeing that beautiful smile. You are now singing for Jesus. The family is in my thoughts and prayers
