Mrs. Ann Warlick Kental, 81, of Valdese, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at her residence, following a period of declining health.
Ann was born on July 2, 1944, in Burke County to the late Clifford Warlick and Ruby Beach Warlick. She retired from the hosiery industry, where she worked as a folder for many years. Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved her family and had a fondness for Elvis Presley, which she shared with her late husband Joe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kental, and four siblings, Mary Frances Carswell, Nancy Cottrell, Lewis Warlick and Burl “Judge” Warlick.
Surviving are her two children, Deanna Cook of Morganton and Mike Cook of Valdese, five grandchildren; Christy Huskins, Jessica Cook, Travis Cook and wife Samantha, Andrew Francis, and Lindsey Cook, two great-grandchildren, Waylon and Colson Cook, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, ,2025 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with Pastor Barry Camp officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Valdese.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
