Allie Mae McGuire Seagle, 96, of Connelly Springs went to her heavenly home on January 4, 2023. She was in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Burke County the daughter of the late Forrest Manuel McGuire and Helen Pugh McGuire. She was a lifelong member of Warlick’s Baptist Church of Hildebran, which she loved. Mrs. Seagle retired from the hosiery business. She also obtained her nursing assistant certification. After retirement she volunteered at Caldwell Memorial and Blue Ridge Hospitals. She also sold Avon for 20 years, obtaining status of presidents club each year.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years William Phifer Seagle ; three sisters, Lulu Tolbert, Nelma Johnson and Catherine Keller; one brother, William (Bill) McGuire.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen Thornburg Gibbs of Connelly Springs; her son Randall Seagle and wife Tricia of Connelly Springs; three grandchildren, Lisa Thornburg Mangum of Granite Falls, Jessie Lovely and Josh of Hickory, and Amber Fortenberry and Chuck of Connelly Springs; she is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Josh Reed of Granite Falls, and Addy, Mason and Burgen Fortenberry of Connelly Springs. She loved and enjoyed her family so much, Grandmae, as she was called will be so missed and always loved.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday January 8, 2023 at Warlick’s Baptist Church, with Rev. Gary Murry officiating. Interment will follow in the Warlick’s Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Warlick’s Baptist Church.
