Mr. Alex Lee Deal, 96, of Valdese, passed away on Sunday January 15, 2023, at his residence, after a period of declining health.

Mr. Deal was born January 2, 1927, in Burke County, a son of the late james Alexander and Grace Mae LeFevers Deal.  Alex was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture as supervisor of the molding department.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Deal, Sr., grandson Jerry Lee Deal, Jr, son-in-law, Larry Fowler, a sister, Irene Allison, and brother, Nelson Tom Deal.

Surviving, are his wife of 48 years, Glenda Elmore Deal of the home, three daughters, Linda Fowler of Drexel, Betty Gruber of Drexel, Vickie Deal of Morganton and a sister Shirley Price of Granite Falls.  Also surviving are his six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services, for Alex Lee Deal will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday January 20, 2023, in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese, with Pastor Tim Hodges officiating.  Interment with Military Honors by the NC National Guard will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Lincolnton.

The Family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11:00 A.M. Friday at Heritage Funeral Service.
