Adrienne Marie Cook Burleson, 45, of Valdese, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at UNC-BR Morganton, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Adrienne was born on August 22, 1977 in Knoxville, TN to David Clarence Cook and Jane Wallace Goins. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, and was previously employed in the restaurant industry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Brian Burleson, grandparents, Dainty Thurman Cook and Aileen Cook, and Pauline Carden.
Survivors include her parents, Jane Goins and husband Charles Blevins of Valdese, David C. Cook and Gail of Tennessee, common law husband, Greg Allen of Valdese, and mother in-law, Sylvia Jean Allen, her children; David Adam Burleson and wife Autumn Gurley, Jessica Kay Burleson, stepchildren; Nicole Burleson and husband J.R. Bright, and Josh Burleson, brother Adam Cook and wife Brandy, and sister Nikki Thomas and husband Barry. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Kinsley Spring Burleson, Colson Blaine Burleson, Hailey Bright, and Preston Bright, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Marvin Wiley officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Valdese.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.

Adrienne was the sweetest to everyone around! As family we didn’t get to see Adrienne due to distance but communication through Facebook she was the first to comment with uplifting comments, love, compliments, and encouragement on post. She let everyone know how much she loved and missed them. She knew how to make her little cousins feel loved! She will be missed like crazy by not only her immediate and extended family but also by everyone whose lives she touched in some way! Love and miss you Cuz! She was one of the good ones that’s for sure. Gone way to soon and will be missed by so many!! 2 amazing men loved this women, one is here on earth to help take care of her kids and grandchildren and ones in heaven to help take care of her!!! I know she was ecstatic when she got to them gates and met up with him!! The carp pond won’t be the same with out her there!! We love you all, and prayers are coming yalls way!!! The millers!
